At Blackwell, school meals are provided by Derbyshire County Council Catering Services.  All our meals are freshly prepared on site in our new purpose-built kitchen.

Derbyshire County Council has put a great deal of time, effort and money into creating healthy menus and promoting healthy choices to pupils.

Menus are run on a four weekly cycle and include vegetarian options. If your child has any special dietary requirements then please let the school office or your child's teacher know. All menus meet the current government nutritional standards.

The current price for a school dinner is £2 per day, this price will remain the same after September 2017.  Children eligible and registered for Free School Meals or those covered by the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme (Reception - Year 2) are entitled to a free school meal.  

Please note that sometimes our cooks sometimes have to make menu changes at short notice (for instance if there is a problem with food deliveries) but we aim to keep this to a minimum.
