Vision and Ethos
We aim to provide a happy, safe, caring and stimulating experience which enables individuals to develop in an environment where differences are valued. We take safeguarding very seriously at Blackwell and continually strive to maintain and foster positive relationships with the local community and the children and families that we serve.
Blackwell Primary School fully recognises its responsibilities for Child Protection and Safeguarding, this Policy sets out how our school will deliver these responsibilities. This is an overarching policy. Child as written in this policy is of a statutory age. Blackwell Primary School is an EYFS provider with EYFS aged children in Nursery and the Reception classes and as such will ensure that the EYFS Safeguarding requirements are met fully.

In accordance with the above procedures, we carry out an annual audit of our Safeguarding provision (S175 Safeguarding Audit, which is a requirement of the Education Act 2002 & 2006) a copy of which is sent to the Local Derbyshire safeguarding Childrens Board.
