Winter Warmer Dinner Day
Thank you to Mrs Howe for cooking a delicious "Winter Warmer" dinner for all the children in school. We all really enjoyed it!
Mr Fox from Alfreton Rotary Club visited school to speak to our School Council. We will shortly be building the greenhouse on the school field.
Thank you to everybody who partied at our valentines disco! We made a great total of £185.91 for our school fund! Also - a very big thank you to Amy, Kelly, Sally and the other PTA members who organised and ran the disco for us!
Thank you so much for your support at the Fayre - it was great to see so many of you there!
The work produced by the children was brilliant and a big thank you to the Blackwell Buddies who did a fantastic job of organising it.
On Tuesday 31st January, FS2, Y1 and Y2 took part in a RSPB activity session. Mr Ward’s class focussed on “Giving Nature a Home” and mapped and scored the school grounds for animal habitats, Miss Hatter’s class explored the school field looking for mini beasts and where we can find these. A great time was had by all and we look forward to welcoming the RSPB back in school soon.
Friendship Day Special Dinner
Thank you to Mrs Howe and Mrs Devaney for cooking and serving a special Friendship Day dinner for all the children in school. As usual it was a great success! Also many thanks to Miss Flint for producing the wonderful table and hall decorations.
Progressive Sports Dancing Event
Lucy from Progressive Sports led Key Stage 1 in a special dancing assembly. They have been rehearsing their routines for several weeks and performed for the rest of the school in the celebration assembly on Friday 20th April. Well done to all of you - we really enjoyed watching your performance!
Thank you to Felley Priory
A huge thank you to Felley Priory near Underwood for donating crates full of wonderful plants for our school gardens - as well as many other extras!
Our gardening club will be meeting soon to begin planting and beautifying the outdoor space.
We look forward to welcoming Felley Priory when our project is completed for a tour!
National Gardening Week & Gnome Zone
We took part in National Gardening Week at Blackwell Primary. Our Food for Life Bronze Award is almost there (thank you to the Office and the Buddies for co-ordinating this) and all children had the chance to take part in gardening themed activities.
The Gnome Home/Zone lunchtime was, as expected, very popular and the Gnome Roam was oversubscribed! Mr White and Miss Flint also had great fun hiding the gnomes in devious places! See our Twitter for our gallery!
A PCSO visited school in February to teach us how to Stay Safe Online! Thank you to PC Land and PCSO Brownlee for taking the time to see us!
