We are a busy school with lovely children and dedicated staff. We actively encourage children to have a positive attitude and strive to create a love of learning by providing a wide range of opportunities within school. We praise and encourage perseverance, resilience and risk taking and ensure children have the confidence to make mistakes. We work hard to prepare our children to be happy, successful and responsible members of society in the future.
Safeguarding and the welfare of our children is a priority and we work with parents, carers and support agencies in an open and honest relationship to ensure children who attend Blackwell are well cared for and protected. Please do take a look at our keeping safe sections under the children and parent tabs and read our safeguarding policies for more information. Information on our school ethos and values is available here. Our KS2 Performance data can be found here.
The website will provide you with information about school policies and procedures as well as an opportunity to see some of the exciting activities we take part in on a day to day basis. Thank you for visiting!
For a paper copy of any policy, or any other information available on the school website, please contact Mr White in the school office.
Safeguarding is given the highest priority at Blackwell. There may be times when adults are concerned about children in the community. If so, then you can contact Derbyshire County Council Child Protection department on 01629 533190 or the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Boswell and our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Gardner.
Please don't ignore concerns;
Child protection is everyone's responsibility.

School has partnered with Woburn House Day Centre in Blackwell to prepare a donation to South Normanton Foodbank. The children are very proud to be able to help those who are not as fortunate as ourselves.
Thank you to the Foyle Foundation
We have received our first boxes of new books for the school library - the children all had the chance to select a book they'd like to see. Mr White and Miss Pickering are working as fast as they can to get these in the library and available for loan ASAP!
