RHS Gardening Award Level 4
Blackwell has achieved level 4 of the RHS school gardening awards for our work on the outdoor space - as a reward we have received a huge box of seeds which the PTA will be using to beautify all the outdoor space!
CEMEX and Rainbridge - THANK YOU
CEMEX and Rainbridge visited school over half term to build the new fence around the school pond, tidy up the vegetable garden and clear a lot of weeds. It looks incredible and we can't thank them enough for their hard work and generosity in giving up their time to help the school. Thank you!
Y5 Trip to David Nieper
Year 5 visited David Nieper Academy in Alfreton on Wednesday 6th June for a special enterprise day.
Safeguarding is given the highest priority at Blackwell. There may be times when adults are concerned about children in the community. If so, then you can contact Derbyshire County Council Child Protection department on 01629 533190 or the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Boswell and our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Gardner.
Please don't ignore concerns;
Child protection is everyone's responsibility.
After School Sports Club
Places are still available on the Key Stage 2 after school sports club, held on a Thursday in the school hall. Please fill in a form ASAP if your child would like to join in.

We are a busy school with lovely children and dedicated staff.
We actively encourage children to have a positive attitude and strive to create a love of learning by providing a wide range of opportunities within school. We praise and encourage perseverance, resilience and risk taking and ensure children have the confidence to make mistakes. We work hard to prepare our children to be happy, successful and responsible members of society in the future.
Safeguarding and the welfare of our children is a priority and we work with parents, carers and support agencies in an open and honest relationship to ensure children who attend Blackwell are well cared for and protected. Please do take a look at our keeping safe sections under the children and parent tabs and read our safeguarding policies for more information.
The website will provide you with information about school policies and procedures as well as an opportunity to see some of the exciting activities we take part in on a day to day basis.
Thank you for visiting!
RSPB Wild Challenge - Bronze!
Blackwell has won the RSPB Wild Challenge Bronze Award. This means our children have taken part in many activities and are actively learning about wildlife and the world around them. Well done everyone!
